GORT – Grey Oral Reading Test

Do you want to know your child’s accurate reading level? Do you want to know if you need to pursue an in-depth reading assessment, or an idea what kinds of mistakes your child makes and how to help improve those areas?

I offer the GORT – Grey Oral Reading test for students in K-12th grades.

I can provide an assessment of your child’s reading errors and oral reading level.

GORT Assessment Details

The GORT-5 provides an efficient and objective measure of growth in oral reading and aids in diagnosis of oral reading difficulties.

Information

The GORT-5 can be used to:

  • identify students with reading difficulties (those who may need more intensive or explicit instruction in reading ability and/or comprehension).
  • determining strengths and weaknesses. (e.g., reading rate vs. comprehension).
  • evaluate students progress in reading.

Zoom Call

A brief 15 minute follow up Zoom call to answer any questions you have about the report and the recommendations I gave you based on the results.

What the Assessment Fee Includes:

  • The approximately 1 hour session to give the assessment
  • Time to score the test and prepare the report
  • You will get a report which contains:
    1. Your child’s current grade level equivalent reading level
    2. An analysis of errors made
    3. Reading rate
    4. Fluency
    5. Accuracy
    6. Comprehension
    7. Oral reading index
    8. An overall report
      • includes linked recommendations for you
      • if requested a separate report without the linked resources to take to school. (Most schools recognize and understand the GORT.)
