Is your child struggling with reading, writing, or spelling?

In no less than twice-weekly 1-1 online sessions (50–55 minutes each), I focus on your child’s individual needs to build skills in reading, spelling, and writing. Using the Orton-Gillingham approach, I incorporate all components of structured literacy as outlined by the International Dyslexia Association.

I often hear concerns about online learning, especially following the pandemic—but working with me online is a very different experience. Sessions are one-on-one, simultaneous multisensory, and I work closely with both you and your child to get comfortable with the tools we use and to set clear, supportive expectations.

I carefully monitor your child’s need for movement and breaks, taking them as often as needed.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help ease any concerns.

“Tutoring” typically refers to short-term support focused on a specific skill or assignment the child is struggling with at the moment—for example, reviewing a difficult worksheet together. These sessions often involve little to no planning or follow-up.

In contrast, the sessions I provide involve carefully planned, individualized instruction tailored to your child’s specific needs. Each lesson is prescriptive, multisensory, and designed to target skill gaps through remediation—not just support, but true skill-building in reading, writing, and spelling.

To begin, I will conduct multiple baseline assessments to determine your child’s current skill level, establish initial goals, and develop a personalized learning plan. During these first sessions, we will also take time to get to know each other and build a comfortable learning environment. This initial assessment phase typically takes about two sessions.

Afterward, sessions will focus on teaching new skills and reinforcing previously learned concepts through a tailored, prescriptive lesson plan. To ensure consistent progress, sessions are scheduled at least twice a week. Additionally, you will receive guidance on how to support and reinforce the concepts at home.

For each session, a prescriptive, individualized lesson plan will be developed based on your child’s current reading level and will include necessary accommodations tailored to their specific needs. These may include (but are not limited to):

  • Handwriting struggles
  • Fine and large motor issues
  • Sensory issues
  • Executive functioning issues
  • ADHD/ADD struggles
